Recreation Opportunities

300 days of sunshine…three inviting rivers within miles of each other…the combination lures visitors from across the nation to this year round, outdoor paradise. Once visitors experience the sunshine, the recreation and friendly people, they often find it difficult to leave.

Recreational and sports enthusiasts love the opportunity to boat, water ski, windsurf, swim, fish, hunt, walk, jog or bike over 22 miles of riverfront paths, bowl, roller and ice skate or simply enjoy the 20 city parks. The moderate temperatures allow the area's ten beautiful golf courses to stay open year round...even when snow lovers are traveling to the ample ski resorts located within a few hours of Pasco.

The number of sports facilities and events in Pasco testifies to its residents' love of sports. Athletes enjoy the region's largest sporting complex which includes six softball fields, batting cages, a sprayground, adjoining soccer fields and a professional baseball stadium close by. The area also offers professional sports teams: the Tri-City Americans Hockey Team and Tri-City Dust Devils Single A Baseball.  In all, Pasco boasts three public swimming pools, 20 City Parks, 19 tennis courts, 19 soccer fields, Edgar Brown Track and Football Stadium, a municipal golf course and 14 softball fields.

Hunters, fishermen and nature lovers enjoy the scenic natural habitats that are home to deer, Canadian geese, Chinese pheasants, quail, chukars, Chinook salmon, steelhead, trout and large-mouth bass.

Those who enjoy more leisurely activities will love touring the over 50 wineries within a 50 mile radius of Pasco that produce some of the finest wines in the country.  Visitors come from all over to sample the area's award winning wines and specialty food products. Another stroll visitors will want to take in is downtown Pasco's open-air farmers market. The market offers a terrific chance to sip, sample and select direct from the producer. Open from May through November, you'll find farm fresh fruits and vegetables, savory sausages, freshly baked bread and delectable pastries.
